  Hutto Recycling Center


The Hutto Recycling Center is located on two enclosed acres at the entrance to the Williamson County Landfill on F.M. 1660 north of Hutto.

There is no fee to use the facility. Please sort items before dropping them off. Bundle newspapers or collect them in brown paper grocery bags, not plastic bags. Residents are invited to pick up and re-use paint dropped off at the center.

 

Accepts, at no charge:

  • Used oil
  • Scrap metal
  • Cardboard
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Aluminum cans
  • Cell phones for the Crisis Center
  • Electronic waste, such as computers, monitors, keyboards and cables
  • Plastic
  • Paint
  • Fluorescent light bulbs
  • Household batteries
  • Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners ($40 fee)
  Cardboard
Computers

Does NOT accept:

  • Plastic grocery/retail bags
  • Wax-coated or foil-coated boxes such as ice cream boxes
  • Diapers
  • Styrofoam
  • Glass
  • Chemicals
  • Pesticides
  • Television

Tires are collected and recycled for a free: car tires are $10 and truck tires are $15.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DAY – October 10, 2009

On Saturday, October 10, nearly 500 cars came through the Williamson County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day. Residents brought paint, household chemicals, propane gas containers, TVs, computers and household hazardous waste to the event hosted by Waste Management and Williamson County.  It was held at the Central Maintenance Facility in Georgetown.
